News Update 4 May 2023

Dear Yarra Glen Bowlers and Social Members,

 

Thursday Night Bowls

A new concept at the Club to keep the interest up during the “Off Season” – Knockout Pairs Competition. Put your name in by 5pm  for a random Draw of partners and we should be all started by 5.30pm. We play 3 bowls of 5 ends. Losers out . Winners continue until there is one final winner. Winning Pair get a spin of the wheel and that number is converted to Cash.  Last Winning pair landed on number $74. Open to any interested public member . No experience needed -just hopefully draw a good partner! Come and try your luck on Thursday nights. $5 per entry.  Let the Club pay for your drinks!!

 

AGM /Presentation Saturday 13th May 6pm.

Numbers need to be finalised by this week , so register on the Club sheet or contact Al James PH 0488268393  or Geoff Senior Ph 0418114422.

The AGM commences at 6pm followed by a 3 course meal ( Spit Roast) $30 per head  then the Trophy presentations.

 

Toilet Project

The Project has been scheduled to be completed by late September/ Early October. So should be ready for next Pennant Season. The Portable toilets provided are to be cleaned and maintained by the Contractor/ Shire during this time.

Mostly (except Thursday nights and Social functions) the toilets will be locked. So access will be through using your Matt box key for the General toilet and the Disabled toilet key is kept inside the Matt Box. All sounds very complicated  and no doubt will be a big inconvenience for all during this timespan. But as the famous Greek philosopher Aste once said “ it can take a long time to complete a good job”.
