Pie Night/General Meeting Thursday 19th October
On this night the Club will hold a General Meeting to decide the status of our Club Uniform. Lyn Baker has undertaken the task of acquiring uniform samples which are on display in the clubrooms. Have a look and see what you think so on the Pie night we can all make informed decisions about our uniform.
The Bowls Show
This Wednesday 13th September from 11am onwards, the Television program “Bowls Show” will be filming at Yarra Glen Bowls Club. Alan James (Big Al) has a Star role as he has been nominated for Volunteer of the Year. Al has completed the first Round of requirements ( photo shoot etc) and now moves into the final stage of the Competition. Our Club will receive $5000 if Al is chosen as Volunteer of the Year.
The organisers wish to meet personally with Al and the Club on Wednesday. So It would be a good look if we could have Club members in our Club shirts /Wind-cheaters there to support Alan . Who knows you could be chosen as Al’s co star ??
Facilities
Much work has been undertaken at the Club over the last 2 years in Facility Development. Apart from the Yarra Ranges project (Green replacement ,Lighting, Toilets), our Club has spent the following on Facility Improvement-
Facility Improvement Expenditure 2021/2022 $20,500
Facility Improvement Expenditure 2022/2023 $$65,200
Club sponsorship so far received is $10,100 and recently a Flood Recovery Grant of $5,500 was received to support on going Projects.
We truly can be proud of our achievements in this area.
Volunteers Needed.
Our Club venue is becoming quite popular for Hiring of events (Birthdays, Wakes, Post Wedding celebrations, Office Parties, Christmas parties etc.) In the coming weeks we have 3 events where you could support us .
Saturday 23rd 40th Birthday
Saturday 30th Bar and Bowls activity
Sunday 8th October Post Wedding Bar and Bowls.
These events are a good source of Revenue for the Club so if you could assist in Bar duty on one of these occasions it would a great help. Let Al James know of your availability or put your name up on the Noticeboard sheet.
Don’t forget this Saturday morning 11am. before our Club Practice a quick Working Bee to clean up our surrounds.
